    Golden barring severe sanctions, should have them straight within 2 yrs.

    But I think it is fair to say that sanctions will come, severity to be determined. I think any momentum he builds (improving roster, depth, recruiting) will be halted by the NCAA. If kids are allowed to transfer w/o penalty, they will be right back in the situation they are today, in my opinion.

    They also have more talent than UNC, who has some serious NCAA issues of their own and are currently on probation. Yet they lost at home and could have very easily been blown out, if not for some sloppy play by UNC.

    Some Miami fans are trying to build Golden up as a savior in order to save face and attempt to build positive momentum...but the cold, hard reality is that the results dictate otherwise.

    As for the claim that they are starting to turn the corner...uh Miami's offensive has seriously regressed in their last 3 losses. The defense still can't stop the run to save their lives. If it wasn't for sloppy play, UNC and FSU would have housed them as badly as ND and KState had.

    Talent wins game. Let me say that again - TALENT WINS GAMES.

    Who has Miami recruited that is going to fix their problems? Their recruiting classes have been worse than Randy Shannon's. This year isn't much different. They have a glaring lack of talent on the DL, and Bryant is going to solve all that? They haven't inked a DE worth a damn. And they are passing on Senat and Bain because they loaded up with kids like King the last couple years.

    So tell me PBen, without just shooting off a generality, how is Miami going to be "straight" in 2 years?

    Large difference. Butch was coaching under sanctions, Golden hasn't been....yet. Butch also recruited elite classes, Golden hasn't been. It will get worse for them before it gets better.

    Sure, right now he is, but what about the future. I'm sure you can't see this team getting stronger, better, more physical, but we can. Guy knows his stuff.... he learned from legends. And by that I mean, probably some of the best that ever coached the game.

    At what point? When we were fumbling the ball? Miami was completely dominated last night. FSU spoted Miami 10 points, gave up a freebee late in the game, had a TD taken off of the board and missed a field goal. That game should have been 43-3, or worse.

  • Very good coach and recruiter. He inherited a mess and doesn't have a lot to work with. I don't think Miami will be the "U" anytime soon.

    Lack facilities, resources, etc. that other schools have over them.

    Wins are against: Boston College, Bethune-Cookman (X2), Georgia Tech (X2), N.C. State, Ohio State, North Carolina, Duke, USF

    What a coincidence. Through Randy Shannon's first 20 games at Miami he was also 10-10...weird.

    Wins against Marshall, FIU, Duke (X2), FSU, Charleston Southern, Texas A&M (X2), UCF, WF.

    Per ESPN, Shannon brought in the #9 class in his 1st year and the #1 recruiting class his 2nd. Golden's 1st recruiting class wasn't even in the top 25 and he brought in the #8 class in his 2nd year.

    You recovered a fumble, had a nice run after that, kicked a field goal after we shanked a punt. Did little outside of that. Got dominated. Front 4 got no push and no pressure on the QB (a few blitzes). Our front 4 pressured your QB. We shut down the run without blitzing. We blanketed your receivers all over the field (with our young secondary).

    I'd say that yes, you have very little talent.
