ACC panel will study whether to launch network

  • Our money problems will not and cannot be fixed by an ACC Network. An SEC network will always make more money because it's a football conference and that's where the money is. They will continue to make more money and continue to have superior financial resources to hire the big dogs. The only solution is going to a better football conference.

Couldn't be more wrong. Potential networks make money from cable subscriptions, and are market based. The Big 12 can go and win the next 20 titles, but it doesn't change the fact that TX, OK & KS don't amount to a large number of households.

SEC schools will always out money us because they've been around forever and have far better donor bases and history. We've really only had football since WW2, and it took a while for it to get started.

Long term FSU is in decent shape because it's a football school with a great location and a large enrollment. But everyone else has a 50 year head start.

This seems to be forgotten. UF has a $127 million budget and about $27 million comes from TV. It's actually amazing that FSU is routinely in the top 15-25 nationally in generated revenue despite its youth. They've been pulling in money greater than the USCw and Nebraska of the world. The money gap will improve from TV contracts, but most importantly, it will improve as we age and our booster population grows.
