Just saw an article on ESPN that he is leaving the Gaytors after his Feb arrest.......big loss for them?

short term it is a big loss he would have been the best TE on roster for them IMO. They have good young talent coming in but will have some growing pains.

They did get the Taylor kid, but he was 220lbs...and that's not ready to play in Div I football...and definitely not in SEC. Supposedly, after bringing up his lack of size, he gained 25lbs. We will see. Florida has talent at the position but young talent that doesn't have time to develop (mentally and physically) will usually be detrimental.....especially to a team that appears to be struggling offensively.

Was Nick detrimental to FSU, due to not having time to develop before playing? Or FSU's struggles offensively? What TEs have been such a detriment to their team from playing too early? Plz name them.
Lol, AC had 80+ receiving yds on the season, 65 coming from 1 gm, but the offense is gonna be in more trouble now. He is talented, but its not like he was ahead of the wrs or Reed, in terms of projected contribution for '12.

Nick was not detrimental to the team per se, but we couldn't use him in every TE package because he would make freshman mistakes (run wrong routes, not pick up right person, etc.) TE is a complex position to master at this speed for a HS student. There were games where O'Leary would be pulled from the line up in the 1st quarter by Jimbo last year.

Yes, he was actually. Due to his lack of size and strength, run blocking effectiveness was minimal. As such, he was rarely present on running downs and often present on passing downs. You could see how that can be problematic.
