No Karlos Williams???!! In order for us to have an elite defense I feel he needs to step up in a big way at safety in order for us to move Joyner at cb for good. I feel like they need to rotate Joyner JUST IN CASE Karlos doesn't make the impact that the coaching staff expects. I think they are just playing it safe if he doesn't pick up the scheme quick or he gets injured. If he does well I think Joyner is full time cb and is capable of locking one side of the field down. If you notice on Bama defense they always have that one corner that is physical at the line and, in run support and can blitz. And the other side is the big play potential guy (Darby).
Bamas defense forces you into there hands. The scheme they use is just a thing of art. When they blitz they want you to go to the opposite side or when they blitz you in the pass game they want you to have to dump of to the short man. They usually have their opponents in 3&5 or morre and bring the heat to get the qb making that quick check off. Their one on one tackling is what makes them so dominant. I heard on the radio the other day the reason A&M had so much success was because Sumlin made Manziel run the play that was called and didn't allow him to check off or audible because Bama shows one thing and wants you to audible right in to their hands. After rewatching that game the first half of coaching in that game is probably the best I've ever seen in a college game. I have never seen a Saban coached defense as lost as they were. Yeah in the UGA they gave up ALOT of points. But it was more of UGA being just as physical running the ball and setting up the pass. A&M didn't out physical Bamas defense they out schemed them. I hate bama fans but I absolutely love watching bama play. Physical and just beat you down. That's why I'm so excited about Pruitt. I think right now we are just a tad bit more talented then bama on defense and it just needs to be unleashed. Not this cover 2,, don't let nothing behind you and get pressure with the front 4 crap. If we brought the house with Werner and Carradine last year we would've absolutely killed people back there. But that wasn't Stoops style and I think it was good for Jimbo to hire a guy that wants to put pressure on the offense. We may not have Pruitt but for 3 to 4 years because he has a talented roster and is relentless on the recruiting trail he has head coach written all over him.
