Thought they had too many penalties

Jimbo thinks Miami's offense will be pretty similar regardless of who plays QB.

The starting quarterback of Miami, Morris, will not start in this upcoming game against FSU. Jimbo says the team is not going to prepare any different or have a different mentality, due to the lack of their number one starter. "Thats on their team, they are the ones that have to come out and practice with the people they have."

Jimbo says he thought Nick O'Leary did a great job blocking, "played a very solid game."

He didn't catch a pass but said they called about eight passes designed for him.

On the reasons for Miami's defensive struggles: They've played a lot of good teams. NC State gave FSU trouble, too. Kansas State is 5th or 6th in the country. They held UNC to 18 points.

"They still have good athletes, they're very well coached. Their scheme is good."

On Miami's defensive struggles:

They played really good teams. They create turnovers, they had 6 against NC State and Kansas State is a great team.

Their record may be misleading because they have played such good teams. With playing teams such as ND and Kansas State.

On how the players respond to not getting those holding calls:
"They'd better."

"I think they have. We've played very well on defense."

Comments on true freshman:

The best players play. Terrance Smith and Reggie Northrop are both young guys that play very well. Two young guys that can really play. They practice hard and they play hard.

Says Miami guys going home is a big deal. Hopes they don't get so amped up that they forget to play the game.

"it's big because they have to live down there," he said with a laugh.

On BCS standings:

"I didn't look at it in detail. Everyone has a lot of football to play, a lot of football. We just have to play our schedule and we have to win our games. I don't know how the computers work (in terms of rankings of BCS), but I though people make computers."

EJ said there were several plays called for O'Leary, but BC was covering so deep they usually had him covered. Credit to pass pro that he was able to go through his reads and find other options.
