Analysis: Replacing Greg Reid

Lots of love for Greg, but Damn kid you couldn't figure it out. Sometimes things like this turnout for the better. We have talent and speed just not experience. Gonna be a blessing in disguise that we got to opponents up front to work things out

I'm interested in seeing who steps up in the return game. Reid just had a knack for it and you knew at any giving time he could break one. Hope he gets his act together. At the very least he could be dangerous returner for a team at the next level.

Don't see KW returning punts, need a guy back there who is shifty and has sure hands, Greene could, maybe Darby or Bracy, Haggins?

I expect to see Greene back on punts probably 80% of the time. He's got the hands to make us feel secure and he showed he could do some good things at times last year.

Replacing Reid on defense is a matter of shuffling and seeing who steps up. Waisome and Hunter have been presented a great opportunity here. Not sure K. Smith fits in at field. I'm concerned that injuries could again hurt our depth in nickel, given that we have to move everyone up a spot, but we'll see.

It is always tough to replace a returning starter and senior CB but there are some options. My assumption would be that Nick Waisome steps in and is pushed by Ronald Darby at the field corner. Keelin Smith is def a boundary CB. I don't see either Joyner or Brooks moving back to CB but I could see a situation where Karlos comes in at FS and Brooks moves to the NB in nickel situations. Nobody we replace Reid with as a punt returner will be as special. I think Bracy is more of a KR. Rashad Greene seems like a good option and I wouldn't mind seeing Karlos or Pender getting a crack PR.

Greene has that type of big play ability, he showed it last year on his lone punt return for a TD. He will be more than adequate back there.

Moving Joyner? Ummmm, how about no. (I hope)

Should have kept this guy, but suspend him for the 2 games against FCS teams. Then put the names of the remaining teams in a bowl, and ask him to pick out, like a lottery, a name with his eyes blindfolded. That would be his 3rd suspension.

Christian Green at PR IMO.. pure speed and elusiveness. I would like to see T Brooks/T Hunter play some corner and nickle

I think this is a perfect opportunity for Tyler Hunter to get into the mix of things. He is a serious athlete and -- like Tim said -- has experience at the position. Either way, fall camp will be plenty of time to figure this out with all of the talent in the defensive backfield.

I'm also interested in the possibility of Bracy or Darby for punt returns, but we'll know a lot more in the next couple of weeks.
