It was a great win, especially coming off a very emotional and physical game against Clemson.
Very good thing that we learned to overcome that
USF wanted to "come in and make a name off of us"
"Bjoern didn't have a lot of numbers but played a very good game"
Called NC State "another double-whammy game" -- meaning intra-divisional ACC game
Mike Glennon's a "fabulous player" ... "an extremely talented guy" that can make all the throws.
Fisher's point about fighting for defensive linemen and cornerbacks in recruiting because skill on offense (wide receivers, backs) is so prolific is one area where he and his staff has excelled. Just look at the strength and depth along the defensive line.
Well coached NC State is looking to come out big.
Their quarterback throws the ball down the field and the O-line has big boys that will be hard to move.
"I think it'll be louder (in Raleigh)" than it was at USF.
Players won't be allowed to talk in practice "everything will be a whisper"
Will pipe in noise, too
Jimbo's main focus is to win the game. Doesn't matter who is known for the number one offense or defense, don't lose the context of winning the game.
Tank Carradine is playing "super" football, but still making adjustments to move from 30 plays a game to 60 plays a game
Tank came to FSU ingrained that speed rushers had all the success ... since he began to feature his speed and power, he's been much more successful.
"He's one of those rare ends, in my opinion, that combine size and power along with explosiveness."
On Mario Edwards
We've got to continue to make him grow. That was a weird game to get him a lot of snaps in.
Says he's developing nicely ... weighs about 282 pounds. Jimbo says 275 is probably a good range for him, but he may be a 280 guy. Says he's moving a lot better.
Jimbo says they're honest about reporting injuries. Doesn't see the value in being dishonest about it.
"That doesn't bother me."
Happy that FSU has a strong running game because when teams throw the ball sometimes they will be out of whack. When the QB can't hit his spots you need a running game that you can hand the ball off to.
Demonte McAllister played "really well."
"Of all the guys up front, I thought he played as well as any of them."
Jimbo complimentary of NC State's offensive line -- "may be as good as anybody we've played."
NC State will probably make some major adjustments after giving up 560 yards to Miami.
A lot of the yards came off freeze plays where NC State just stopped, but they have good coaches down there that'll make some changes.
On being No. 3
"It's things you've got to deal with ... we're about preparation not expectation."
"That's show-dog stuff."
EJ up now. ... talking about preparing for crowd noise and all that at NC State
EJ is leading in completion percentage in the ACC and leading in other categories, but doesn't seem to get as much credit as deserved. Jimbo says that doesn't bother him because "he's a hunting dog, not a show dog." Referring back to his statement he made a week or two ago about the Heisman running.
Sounds like EJ hadn't yet been made aware that he'd be whispering in practice this week. Ha.
EJ says that he doesn't have a favorite receiver right now, he just goes through his reads instead of looking for one in particular. Florida State has over 7 receivers with double digit completions.
EJ: Stork is "one of those nitty-gritty guys you want to have as your center."
EJ texted Mike Glennon Saturday and said he'd see him this weekend. The two are friends, been friends since high school. Friendly rivalry and all that.
EJ on his accuracy (he's currently the ACC's all-time leader in completion percentage)
"Biggest thing is understanding what we're doing as an offense. I've always known i can throw."
