Sean Gilmartin’s dream of making it to professional baseball has been realized.
The left-handed Seminoles ace put pen to paper on Thursday afternoon, sources tell Noles247, and signed with the Atlanta Braves. Gilmartin was the Braves’ first-round selection in the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft.
Gilmartin finished the 2011 campaign with a team-leading 12-1 record and a sparkling 2.09 earned run average. The California native struck out 130 batters in 120.1 innings of work and led the Seminoles to the Tallahassee Super Regional.
