Whitfield wants to take visits

Levonte Whitfield

Whitfield will contribute in both track and football at Florida State.

Levonte 'Kermit' Whitfield, a Florida State commitment since August, intends to take all of his official visits between now and National Signing Day.

    • Just saw this on the main page. Here's my neutral observation. He's not committed if he wants to take other visits. Committed would be interested in no place but your school. Taking visits is showing interest. Sounds like Kermit may do some hopping around.

    • No one to worry about. Solid addition, you just let us know in a respectable time frame Kermit.

That's a rather mature, non-blue-chip-prospect definition of committed. No room in recruiting for that kind of silliness...

I don't understand this rationale. Most of these Florida kids come from dire straits and just want to visit other parts of the country. If he's playing for FSU, he's not likely to ever play in Oregon, Ohio or California so why not take a free ride out there and see what it's like. If you happen to get wined and dined and mingle with a few pretty girls -even better. These kids have worked hard to get where they are.... why can't they enjoy their spoils. If FSU takes care of business, we have nothing to be concerned about.
