We are excited to announce the addition of Chris Nee to Noles247 and the 247Sports network. Nee, who has more than 10 years of experience in the industry, will be covering Florida State recruiting and contributing across the network with news on prospects throughout Florida as well as portions of Georgia and Alabama.
“I’ve known Chris for many years and followed his work for the past decade on Rivals. There aren’t many people that combine his work ethic, knowledge and overall team spirit,” 247Sports CEO Shannon Terry said.
“Chris is a superstar and is a perfect fit for our team. The Florida State market is one of the best in all of college sports and the combination of Chris Nee, Josh Newberg and the resources of 247Sports give us an opportunity to create a tremendous team site for the Florida State family.”
Nee previously worked for Rivals.com from 2003 to 2012. He started his career on its Florida State site, Warchant.com, where he provided football, basketball and baseball team coverage as well as recruiting coverage. In 2010, he became the state of Florida analyst for Rivals.com and served in that role until his departure to 247Sports. In 2012, Nee was recognized by his colleagues at Rivals.com for his outstanding work.
“I was not surprised that Chris won the Distinguished Service Award at the most recent Rivals.com Publisher Conference,” Terry said. “When we created that award years ago (while at Rivals), we wanted to make sure we had a way to recognize people in our organization that went beyond the call of duty and are total team players. We had people like Chris in mind.”
Nee joins the talented team of Newberg, Tom Loy, Tim Linafelt, Sean Grimm, Bob Ferrante and Travis Register on Noles247. The staff will continue to provide the very best team and recruiting news to our FSU fans.
“I’m excited to be working with Chris Nee – one of the hardest workers in this industry,” Newberg said. “Chris is someone I look up to personally and professionally. He will be a great addition to the community we are building at Noles247.”
