14 for '14: RB Sony Michel

Sony Michel

Class-of-2014 running back Sony Michel

With the 2013 class of Florida State nearing its capacity, Noles247.com will take a look at some of the top 2014 targets that have emerged for the Seminoles.

Shoot, he committed? Ugh, missed it.

Haha jk bud. I definitely mentioned it in the article, however I don't think its a lock like some think. I think FSU stands a good shot at this time, all because of Gran.

    • Sounds like a love affair with Coach Gran. Sounds all Nole to me, unless we take Collins.

its alos very hard for someone to be all-cane when the sanctions will be announced BEFORE he signs.

Maybe Miami gets off relatively light and then they would become the favorite but until we know how bad the sanctions are and what they will do to a program that is already incapable of competing in the ACC, anybody saying cane lock is premature.

Most Cane fans see 8-10 wins on their schedule; I see 4-6, if they hit 8 they will have impressed me beyond all expectations

    • How much better is Michel than Yearby? If Michel is a 10, what's Yearby?

I'm just curious, because we're already off to a hot start for next year (even though it's a run on wideouts). I'm actually wondering if Jojo Robinson can play RB at the college level, that'd be pretty cool with his athleticism. Granted, his only film is five-year-old Pop Warner ball highlights, so...

    • With all these talented RBs interested in FSU despite not having a 1,000 yard rusher since Warrick Dunn, stipulates they want to play for Jimbo and his offense.

I'm personally more interested in bringing in better OL.

I really hope we get Sony, but I'm far from worried at this point.

      SC_Nole

    • No one is all Cane with them about to go 6-6 and get hammered.

I do NOT think he plays at FSU but this might be all Bama 15 months from now

Getting Michel would be a two for one, he is really good back who would benefit us plus it would prevent the Canes from getting their bell cow next year. I really like the OL class we got in 2011 and if we get another high quality tackle, the 2013 class would on paper would be even better.

Anyone notice how pretty much any prospect we talk about here some Cane fan comes over and drops the same message. Its like an automated response .....press 1 for "Cane Lock" ...press 2 for "If we want him hes ours" ...press 3 for "UM will get off Sanctions lightly for cooperating"...press 4 for "Hometown pressure will keep him in SoFlo". Its ridiculous and you sound so insecure. I don't go over to UM boards and claim Nole lock for every thread you have for a prospect. We don't care what you think.indian

    • As a former recruited athlete I will say this, 1) staying close to home factors significantly in a recruits decision (most of the time), 2) education is a strong selling point to parents. Don't under estimate this fact. Miami is a top 40 institution, with a high APR and graduation rate. Add the fact UM has more NFL players than any other school. Sanctions or no sanctions with Al Golden in Miami, it is going to be tough to pull kids from there...period. 2014 is a long ways away, so it doesn't matter what kids do or say now.

I would say that the lineman that Fisher has been brining are high quality.

Hasn't proven tough for Fisher, Coley or Gran as of late, and we have yet to have a dominate season.

What top player have you signed from Miami since Golden became coach? I don't care who's committed...who has signed a letter of intent?

So, you're limiting my response to one class in an attempt to prove a point that is resting on glass?

Answer: The ones that we wanted. FSU has signed the #1 and #2 rated recruiting classes since Al "2-star" Golden arrived at Miami. If you want to talk recruiting smack, you may want to focus on teams like FIU, FAU, UCF etc.

FSU has no problems recruiting South Florida; never has.

When you have Coley and Gran, recruiting SoFla is fairly easy.

What top player have you signed from Miami since Golden became coach? Until you have an answer for this question you and I have nothing further to discuss. I have respect for FSU and FSU fans and would love to see both teams back on top because that's what made the rivalry special.

How many TOP players have you all signed? Just curious.

I already answered your loaded question: The ones that we've wanted. Until you're school routinely shows an ability to recruit a fly to shit, please refrain from the recruiting smack talk.

Devontae Freeman and a ton of others from south Florida area - Greene, Hart, KB, NLS

But maybe Golden only built his fence around Miami and not FT lauderdale and what a dumb question as someone pointed out. You're talking about 2 yrs from 1 city LOL

    • One of these days I'd like to give breakdown Sony's game in greater detail. This won't be the thread in which to do it however. Besides, I'd like to see some Jr. film before doing so, just to be fair. Kid has limitless potential if he can stay healthy

    • JMO with the knee and such early physical development I wouldnt be surprised at all if in 15 months Sony is considered the #5-7 back in the 2014 class. Still elite but not Edgerrin James II like he's considered now.
